May is National Foster Care Month!!!
Why is May National Foster Care Month?
To bring attention to the experiences of more than 400,000 children and youth who are in the foster care system and to recognize their promise.
To commend the devotion of foster parents.
To highlight the dedication of professionals who work to improve these children's and youth safety and assist their families in addressing the issues that brought them into the child welfare system.
To encourage everybody's involvement for a better future for all.
"We all have a role to play in ensuring our children and youth grow up with the rich opportunities and support they need to reach their full potential." President Obama, Presidential Proclamation of 2012 National Foster Care Month.
